Thanks for some great theater donations!

Donated in April of 2022, to be placed at our theater, by Jim & Judy Banick of RT 27 Vintage Vendors, is this 1938 Zenith 9-tube model 9S244. It is sporting the fabulous “Motor Drive Robot Shutter Dial” and green tuning eye. We thank them so very much and ask you to visit their store at 708 North Main Street!

Donated in February,  to be placed at our theater, by Janelle Fain Ragland, is this 1940's Philco AM radio. It was owned by Janelle's parents, Virgil and Pearl Fain. We thank her so very much!

A Wonderful Addition to the KCAL Old Time Radio Theater!

The generosity of this community continues to astound us and we cannot say THANK YOU enough. As you may know, we inherited a "hodge-podge" of chairs in the theater and have wished for more safe, and more comfortable, ones for our audience.

Well, thanks to an Anonymous donor (50 chairs)  and the Farmers Bank of Jessamine County (10 chairs), we now have SIXTY brand new, PADDED, and SAFE, folding chairs. Your viewing experience just got better. We so much appreciate these donations and support of KCAL !

2019 KCAL Gospel Showcase UPDATE!

You gave $ 5642 and here's what good it has done!

According to Shainey Marcus, the director of the Jessamine County Schools Homeless Education Program, the $ 5642.00 raised at the 2019 KCAL Gospel Showcase has been put to very good use so far. Here is a list of what the funds have been used for to this point:

  • Food bought for a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal at the Jessamine County Homeless Shelter for about 75 people
  • Real shoes purchased for homeless students who only had flip-flops to wear
  • Clothing for a 14-year-old unaccompanied youth who basically only had the clothes on her back
  • Groceries for some families who have been able to get their own place
  • Pay for two homeless students to participate in archery and basketball
  • Hope to buy some holiday gifts as well

Ms. Marcus says she has some funds still left and they will be put to good use. Your generosity is making a huge difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

The Jessamine County Schools Homeless Education Program and KCAL Old Time Radio can't say THANK YOU enough!

Always a KCAL highlight!

You can always expect delicious homeade desserts at intermission made by Teresa Damron!

2021 KCAL Gospel Showcase

An Overwhelming Success!

WOW! Once again, the KCAL Gospel Showcase was a great success due to the great talent and generous audience donors! This year we once again passed the plate and raised $ 5800 for the Jessamine County Schools Homeless Education Program ! That means that in 3 concerts (live at the church in fall of 2019, Facebook live show in 2020, and live again at the church in 2021) these shows have garnered $ 15,000 for this program. A HUGE thanks to all of our singers for their gifts of time and talent, the Jessamine Christian Church for the use of their fantastic facility, and, of course, our very generous donors. Through the efforts of all there will be unfortunate children in our community whose lives will be made better! You can still donate...see below!
